Today, he serves as a fractional CMO and marketing consultant for early- to growth-stage startups, and is also the CEO & Co-founder of RevOptica – a buyer journey visualization and analytics platform for B2B go-to-market teams.

Wes started his career in marketing (think campaign strategy and sales enablement) and then did what most people do when they have no idea what they want to be when they grow up….he became a recruiter.

Because of his time as a marketer, Wes was familiar with Eloqua and Marketo. So, when a small B2B SaaS company reached out to his recruiting firm (Versique) looking for a Marketing Automation Specialist with Marketo expertise, Wes just happened to be the only person in the company that knew what Marketo was.

Almost a decade later, Wes now leads a team of recruiters (all ex-marketers) who specialize in marketing operations, demand generation, and digital marketing roles for high-growth B2B SaaS companies worldwide.

If there’s one thing Wes enjoys most about his role as a recruiter, it’s the ability to provide guidance and career advice to people who need it. Generally speaking, marketers are great at marketing for the company they work for but not great at marketing themselves. Wes hopes to change that.
